I've been a fan of the Righteous Brothers ever since Lovin' Feeling hit the airwaves first time out. Not surprised this classic has a record for most air play - it's a beautiful ballad that was clearly destined for greatness via Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield. I could listen to them sing this song over and over again at their Hall of Fame induction ceremony. You could just tell from the experience that there was a whole lotta love between these two, the band, the people in the room and the world! This book is a testament to the grueling hard work and faith it takes to make it in an industry where you can be here today and gone tomorrow. In life there are so many lessons to be learned, and I believe it was providential that The Righteous Brothers were inducted when they were before Bobby Hatfield left this realm. Bill Medley's memoirs are of a lifetime performance that are inspirational and bring a certain peace to the soul that longs for an anchor for those things that cannot be seen. Thank you and rock on, Bill!

I graduated high school in the 1960s so The Righteous Brothers were a part of my teenage years...and because I continued to love their music the rest of my life I couldn't wait to read this book. I stumbled onto an interview of Bill Medley on PBS a month ago and I was sorry it wasn't longer than it was...but that is how I learned about his new book. I couldn't wait for the book to arrive and I enjoyed every page...and was sorry when it was over.....but I greatly appreciated the openness of Bill Medley. I have listened to his music for more than fifty years...did I just admit that?...but now after having read his book I also like the man very much. I could sit on his front porch and listen to his stories.(Mike Marino called Bill a real "raconteur" and I hope people don't miss that about him.) He came to know many entertainers that were big in our time and it was fun to learn of his personal relationships with them. I also appreciated his affection for Bobby Hatfield. I was one of t.he many teenage girls who were at the Cow Palace for the Beatles first and second concerts there and the Righteous Brothers opened for them for the first tour...I then saw them again in San Diego when I was going to college in 1967. This time it was their concert and tour...and it was so very good and it was packed to the gills. I would love to go to a Bill Medley concert now! I wish he would return to the Lake Tahoe or Reno clubs. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the music of the last 50 years...why not...Bill Medley was a part of the scene and generously shares stories about many stars of the time. I am glad that his life has had happiness centered around his family and friends and that he is so highly thought of by his friends. The warmth that his son and daughter spoke of him with was palpable and loving....and he obviously knew when he met the right girl for him when he met his wife of 27 years, Paula. Lastly, I am so glad that this book was written and thought that when Bill Medley met Mike Marino that afternoon....he must have thought he'd met just the right person to help him get his story told.

I enjoyed this immensely. The book takes you down memory lane. It's a real newsy book . You can almost hear him talking . And the wonderful tribute he gave Bobby Hatfield. For the past week I have been listening to Righeous bros music on you tubeesp when he mentions the song. He accepted the responsibility of bringing up his son after his wife died tragjecally. It is worth your while to read this. Espically if you were coming of age with their music. If not and you are 20 something it's worth it to here how MacKenna Medley step in to sing Bobby Hatfield's part in " You Lost that Lovin Feelin"

I bought this as a gift for someone who is a die-hard Righteous Brothers fan. He absolutely loved it. As he read, he would share parts of the book with me. Reveals the ups and downs of the partnership, other celebrities in their heyday, and the death of Bobby Hatfield (the other Righteous Brother). If you like them, you'll love the book.

Great book[Memoir] buy a fantastic singer.Bill reveals his feelings about his friends,Elvis,Kenny Rogers,Connie Stevens,Darlene Love, and good Acquaintance in Frank Sinatra, who he sponged advise from and who helped Medley&Bobby Hatfield get billed in Vegas in the mid sixties. His ups and downs when he completely lost his voice in 1976 and couldn't sing for 3 years. How Kenny Rogers and producer Larry Butler helped Bill get a record deal with United Artists for a Country album he put out in 1979.His relationship with Hatfield, which was sometimes strained but also his love for the guy.

I read "The Time of my Life" in almost one sitting. Could hardly put it down, it was so interesting. How does one begin to cover such a long, colorful career in one book? Bill Medley did it beautifully - without smearing anyone! I got such insight into the lives of the fabulous Righteous Brothers. I remember seeing them perform in Denver in 9/93 and how we all waited with bated breath to see if Bobby could still hit that incredible high note, and applauding like crazy when he did! I miss Bobby, but glad that Bill straightened out the details of his death. I feel the book is an honest account of Bill's amazing life (and yes, it would have been nice if Bobby had written one, too), and you feel like you truly know him...and like him very much. I wish him only the best and thank him for sharing his life with us.

Lots of show biz trivia. I would like to know more about how Phil Spector got involved and stayed involved with the Righteous Brothers. I have read many rock biographies and this was one of the better ones. The format made it easy to read and hard to put down.
